| Este estudo analisa a variação da abundância do camarão-rosa Farfantepenaeus subtilis (Pérez Farfante, 1967), na região Norte do Brasil, nas duas áreas mais freqüentadas pela frota industrial, compreendidas entre o cabo Orange (AP) e a foz do rio Pará (PA), por meio de índices de abundância (CPUA) e biomassa instantânea. Verificou-se, também, as diferenças nos valores da CPUA para duas diferentes faixas de profundidade (10 m a 70 m e 70 m a 130 m) e seu comportamento em relação ao aumento da profundidade. Finalmente, calculou-se a biomassa instantânea para cada subárea e para a área como um todo. Foram utilizados, nas análises, dados coletados em 5 cruzeiros de prospecção pesqueira, realizados nas áreas citadas, com um total de 37 arrastos. A CPUA do camarão-rosa apresentou diferenças significativas entre os valores estimados para as diferentes áreas e diferentes estratos de profundidade. Porém, a CPUA não apresentou correlação com a variação de profundidade. A biomassa instantânea do camarão-rosa, para a área e o período de estudo, foi de 2.447,30 t. |

| The present study tries to determine and to compare the variation of the abundance of the pink-shrimp Farfantepenaeus subtilis (Pérez Farfante, 1967), in the North region of Brazil, in the two areas more exploited by the industrial fleet, located between the Orange cape (AP) and Pará river mouth, through abundance indexes (CPUA) and instantaneous biomass. It was verified, also, the differences in the values of CPUA for two different depth strips (10 m to 70m and 70 m to 130 m) and its tendency in relation to the increase of the depth. Finally, the instantaneous biomass was calculated for each subarea and for the whole area. Data used in the analysis were collected in 5 experimental fishing cruises carried out in the mentioned areas, having been accomplished a total of 37 trawls. The CPUA of the pink-shrimp presented significant differences among the values esteemed for the different areas and different depth strata. Even so, the CPUA didn't present correlation with the depth's variation. The instantaneous biomass of the pink-shrimp, for the area and the study period, it was of 2.447,30 t. |
